2011 FSC User Conference
Submitted by Bill Sterry on Thu, 06/30/2011 - 11:23Thank you to all that attended the 2011 FSC User Conference. The conference included training sessions on many aspects of FSC Manager, including; paperless, commercial and personal workflows, administration, reports, communications, and marketing. Sessions were also held on MI-Rater RT, MS Office, and technology tools.
User Forum
One of the primary purposes of NUDGMI is to provide a method for users to meet other users, and help one another. The Question/Answer Forum below supports that very purpose. Log in and you'll be able to post questions related to the FSC Manager, and provide comments and answers to others. The support staff at Vertafore - FSC also monitors this site to help out when appropriate.

Table Information for Current User
Submitted by Michael A. Doer... on Thu, 03/03/2011 - 16:56I'm trying to create a Client Letter that stamps the name of the user printing the letter in the footer. As the user who prints a letter could differ from both the "Producer" and "CSR" on file for that client, I can't use those fields. Does anyone know in what table I can find the information for "Current User" so that I may enter that as a Merge Field?
EFT Payments
Submitted by Bob Henkes on Wed, 01/19/2011 - 10:00We are attempting to streamline how we handle client's who pay in the office. Instead of having the companies sweep from our bank account and having to deposit the client's check into our account, we are using the companies one time eft sweep of the client's account. My question is, if you use the eft single sweeps, how do you handle the client's check?

Sequence of updates?
Submitted by Lew Doubleday on Tue, 12/21/2010 - 09:33I note all members decided they wanted Claims Download before other items such as a Reminder System that actually reminds us by popping up or beeping? I'm wondering why? Can't you access claims info through Service Link? We are able to do so with our companies. Just asking!
Really mind-blowing mind
Really mind-blowing mind mapping applications you posted here and i used 2 of them, but i like the mind genius.Pinot Noir Wine Clubs ,his is an easy task to implement as those companies are already doing this on other systems.
Your post really
Your post really informative. It will be a growing area to watch this year. Like you say, comments keep the conversation going. They also provide additional insight to the readers and the bloggers. Comments offer a different perspective and put a "face" to the readership.Orange County Web Development
Hi Lew, I don't remember the
Hi Lew, I don't remember the details specifically, but here is a little bit about it. Not every company is accessible on servicelink and even though some are, they all notify agencies in different ways about claims. I still get faxes, emails, mail and nothing at all to notify me. This is an easy task to implement as those companies are already doing this on other systems.
The reminder system is a little more detailed. It takes existing reports and tasks that we look at on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and would notify us that the report is available. With some of the other major planned updates to Marketing and database's, we thought it would be best to hold off on some of those other items until those were done. At that time it would be easier and less time consuming to implement those other changes.
As this was our first meeting, it is all new to us to. Thanks for reading the minutes and inquiring. That's what we need. Its important to give that type of input and discussion at the region meetings as well so we can carry that forward.
Thanks again
Follow-up vs Tran log with follow-up
Submitted by ISPINC on Tue, 11/16/2010 - 09:03I'm wondering what other agencies do about follow-ups: do you do a follow-up so you or any staff person can add to it with notes and close it out when it is complete or do you do a tran log and keep doing a new tran log with follow-up conversation? I am finding that my tran logs and follow ups are a jumbled mess!
We use the same tranlog. We
We use the same tranlog. We reguire that when they add something, they start at the top of the existing tranlog with the date, their comments and then initials. This way anyone sees the most recent item on top when they open it and know who did what as you scroll down and read it. Depending on the circumstances, we have them change the tranlog category as they do this. For example, we might start out with an endorsement reguest to a CSR. After they process it they might change it to endorsement efiled and then when it comes back, to closed. This is beneficial when trying to find the efiled item as it only has one tranlog date for that category. Hope this helps.

This sounds incredibly
This sounds incredibly helpful. How do you edit a single TranLog?

Sorry for taking so long in getting you an answer. I would recommend getting a seperate scanner & Printer. For a scanner I would recommend the Fujitsu Scansnap (S1500 is the newest model). As for a printer I have had good look with an HP in my office.

At the Users Conference, I had some requests for a Minnesota Credit Authorization form. Could not locate this on ACORD. Can someone tell me the ACORD number or get me a copy of this form?

Any idea when the new FSC Management Version 10.0 is coming out??? Why is it taking so long????

If you're like our agency the releases have been on an alphabetical basis (W). While we haven't been officially notified yet I was told you can go into help on your management system and go to update systems the update is out there.

Jennifer:
One of the carriers that our agency represents has been using Acord 38 (2006/07) as a supplement to the Auto application. I checked the Acord website and it looks like this may be a discontinued form. Another carrier that we represent, uses their own disclosure form.
Service Link
Submitted by Bob Henkes on Wed, 06/16/2010 - 08:01Just wanted to post some questions on Service Link to see how it fits in your workflow.
When it comes to looking up anything on a single client, I think service link is great. Even it a company isn't using it, you can still go from the client screen to that companies website.

Bob, I would think the
Bob, I would think the service link option thru the cleint would still be the best since you have to find the compnay to make the change. when we go to the client screen screen to find which company we have to go to will determine which work flow to use. Unfortunately we still have companies that are NOT on service link so we have to email the change from the policy screen. If we can go to service link (direct or to the website)to make the change copy the confirmation and make the tranlog on the back end after the change is is complete and paste the comfirmation.

In Stream Rater
Submitted by lana on Fri, 01/15/2010 - 15:49We are trying to get/keep an accurate policy count. How do other agencies handle the health insurance policies. Do you go in and renew each year when they come up on the expiration date (call the company, etc.) or do you wait until they show up on the commission statement then renew.

We wait until they show up on
We wait until they show up on the commission statements to renew them. I do a expired policy report and look up each policy on the statements.

Hi Randy Thanks for the post.
Hi Randy
Thanks for the post. You lost me on the credit card deal though.
If the person is there we
If the person is there we only take the check information. If they have already made out the check we get the info and then void the check and shreed it. If the client is still in the office we will offer to give it back to them. Mike Loguercio at Stone River also introduced my agency to a company called Net Spend that offers pre-paid credit cards. We are in currently reviewing what they offer but if you want I can get you the contact info and you can see if they would work for you.
Have a great day
